Thursday June 26 we went on a shuttle bus to the new vistor center. It is name Elison Vistor Center. On the bus ride out to the center we seen alot of animal and we got to see Mt McKinley out in full that means that there was no or little clouds to block the view. It was neat and it sure is beautiful. While we were at the vistor center we ate lunch and this little arctic squirrel tried to help us eat our lunch. He was not scare of anyone. One of the things we saw on our way to the vistor center was this grizzley bear. It was playing and eating and it was neat to see. One of the stops we made was at Polycrome (that is Greek for many colors) we climb up the hill and grandma took my picture

Hike to Vistor Center

The other day we went for a hike to the vistor center (this center is the one by the campground) and travel by Riley Creek. It was neat but after that when we went on our raft ride and the was more fun.

Denali highway

We went for a ride today and went down the Denali Highway. It was a long ride but it was very pretty. We got out and ran around a couple of time and one of the times Alexis and I went down this hill and found a caribou leg. Grandma said someone was probly hunting and left it lay there when they were done. It was cool. Mariah got to go to and she love getting out of the Tahoe and running around chasing Alex and I. We had a very good day and lots of fun.

LYNX

I want to see a Lynx but have not yet. This is a picture of one that Grandma said the host at Savage River saw. They say there is a Lynx at Savage livving there this summer and hunting the snowshoe hares maybe I can get there and see it before I leave.

Raft ride

Here our picture of the rafeing trip we took on Friday. We hit a really big wave and the boat front went up then down and when it went down it threw Papa right out of the raft. He hung on to the chicken rope like we were told to do before we started the trip and then the guide pushed him down twice and on the third time down he pulled him back into the raft. I did not think it was funny till he got back into the raft, then I laughed. I was a little bit scared that I was going over backwards with him. It was alot of fun and our guide name was Gator. He was great and funny and lots of fun.

Firewood

Papa let me help cut fire wood with an axe. I did not even cut myself once. The bad part is that it has rained for the last 4 days and we can not burn the wood in the fire pit. It was nice this afternoon for awhile and Papa, Gram, Alex & I walked down to Riley Creek to throw rocks in the water. The creek has raised up to the banks because of the rain.

ATV Adventure

We went on ATV's today. The guide took us out on trails and out by the mountains. We also went to a river bed. Papa drove thru the mud puddles and the water in the river bed they took us to. The guide talked to us thur the helmets we had on. I wanted to drive the Rhino we had but they said you had to be 16. It still was so much fun. We were gone for 2 1/2 hours. I really really really like it.

I have been working on a walking stick with Papa and it is alot of work but I am enjoy doing it and spending time with Papa. Grandma and I walked down to Riley Creek and got a water sample to test. I had to get the tempature of the water and then check the PH with a strip of paper that came in the Discovery back pack that the Vistor Center lented to us. It is full of all kinds of things to do and explore.
