Baby birds

My baby birds have left the nest. I wonder how they learn to fly when the nest is on the ground?

Baby birds

I found a birds nest in the grass on Papa's lot the other day and today the eggs hatched. As you can see the little birds are hungry and one had it mouth open waiting for food. The mother bird was not far as she was sitting in the tree and let me know she wanted me to get away. Gram said she will watch them and update her blog with pictures as they grow. She said this is a Dark-eyed Junco.

Elison Vistor Center

Thursday June 26 we went on a shuttle bus to the new vistor center. It is name Elison Vistor Center. On the bus ride out to the center we seen alot of animal and we got to see Mt McKinley out in full that means that there was no or little clouds to block the view. It was neat and it sure is beautiful. While we were at the vistor center we ate lunch and this little arctic squirrel tried to help us eat our lunch. He was not scare of anyone. One of the things we saw on our way to the vistor center was this grizzley bear. It was playing and eating and it was neat to see. One of the stops we made was at Polycrome (that is Greek for many colors) we climb up the hill and grandma took my picture

Hike to Vistor Center

The other day we went for a hike to the vistor center (this center is the one by the campground) and travel by Riley Creek. It was neat but after that when we went on our raft ride and the was more fun.

Denali highway

We went for a ride today and went down the Denali Highway. It was a long ride but it was very pretty. We got out and ran around a couple of time and one of the times Alexis and I went down this hill and found a caribou leg. Grandma said someone was probly hunting and left it lay there when they were done. It was cool. Mariah got to go to and she love getting out of the Tahoe and running around chasing Alex and I. We had a very good day and lots of fun.
